Prayer and Healing
Prayer
We are a people who believe in the power of prayer.
There is a monthly printout of issues to focus on each day for prayer and praise, both within the Parish and for Mission, at home and overseas. Copies are always available in the Church, Church Centre and from the Church Office.
There is a prayer meeting for the needs of the Parish on alternate Tuesday evenings at 8.00pm in the Church Centre, and we also meet to pray briefly in St. John's Church at 9.00am each Thursday. In addition, there are always designated Church members present after each Service, prepared to pray for anyone with particular needs.
Urgent requests for prayer are relayed through a confidential prayer chain; contact is made through Cynthia Fawcus who heads up the Prayer Chain which prays daily. Confidential prayer requests should be phoned to Cynthia on 01732 833397 between 6.00pm and 7.30pm and prayers will be passed on from 8.00am the following morning (9.00am on Saturdays). Emergencies any time.
Names of those requesting prayer can be printed on the Weekly Notices for the whole Church to pray.
Healing
We believe in a God who heals today.
We have a Healing Ministry team available for prayer after morning Services and we are happy to meet with you at other times for prayer if desired.
Church members are also part of the Healing on the Streets, on Saturday mornings at the Castle on the High Street in Tonbridge.
Those facing life's challenges
Our vicar, clergy and pastoral assistant are on hand to visit people within the parish who need prayer and counsel over the many and varied problems we experience in life. We are always willing to talk with people in the first instance, pray with them, and point them in the right direction for trained help e.g. debt advice at Tonbridge Baptist Church.
