St. John’s Church Hildenborough

A Worshipping Community, Serving the Community

New to St. John's

What to expect when you arrive for the 10.00 am Sunday morning Service:

1.    At our Services there will be a leader to take you through the Service. There will be hymns and worship songs, prayers, Bible readings and a talk based on the reading. It will last about an hour and ten minutes. The service is aimed to connect us to God, for us to think about him and his relevance to our life today.

2.
The first Sunday of each month is an ‘All Age service’ when the children and teenagers stay for the whole of each Service, and it is aimed to be relevant to them as well as the adults.

3.
On the second, fourth and fifth Sundays each month, the children join the adults for the first ten minutes or so and then go to groups specially designed for their ages.

4.
On the third Sunday of the month we hold our Holy Communion Service when we specially remember Jesus’ great love in dying for us on the cross and share the bread and wine together. You don’t have to receive the bread and wine if you prefer not to. On this Sunday, the children and young people start the morning in their groups and then join the adults either in the Church or the Church Centre for the last part of the Service.

5.
A crèche is provided each Sunday except for the All Age service (see 3 above).

6.
After every Sunday 10.00am service, we have coffee and refreshments in the Church Centre when those attending either service meet together. It is a good opportunity to get to know one another and is an important part of our Sunday. We want to get to know you.

7.
After each Sunday morning service, people are available to pray privately with anyone who would like to avail themselves of this provision.

8. Baptism of children takes place at our All Age Service on the first Sunday of the month.
